Student Health Insurance

The STUDIUM health insurance provides fee-for-service health insurance coverage within the territory of Hungary for foreign students of the University of Pécs. The insurance covers the costs of medical procedures, treatments, physician and hospital services, medications and medical equipment. The Generali STUDIUM accident and health insurance with cost reimbursement makes the insured student eligible to other services of the entire Clinical Center. The cost of the insurance for the academic year 2021/22 is 75 000 HUF.

First aid and emergency medical care are free for foreigners, in other cases you have to pay for the treatment. A full coverage general health insurance for Hungary is a prerequisite for registration at any faculty of the University of Pécs.
Emergency services are free of charge if immediate medical attention is required.

EU citizens are insured on the basis of the European Health Insurance Card.
Some students simply take out travel insurance for entering Hungary.
For a longer stay a private medical insurance is recommended to all study-abroad students.
The Generali-Providencia STUDIUM accident and health insurance with cost reimbursement makes the insured student eligible to other services of the entire Clinical Center. The amount is currently about HUF 70,000 per year.

 

Tips for pedestrians, cyclists, motocyclists and drivers

This is to inform you within the territory of the Republic of Hungary there is ZERO tolerance policy in effect

• with regards to the use or import of any kind of illegal drug (depressants, stimulants or hallucinogens);
• for drink driving: consumption of alcohol is totally prohibited. Punishments include: charging a very high fine, driving licence suspended for years, obligation to join a drunk driving rehabilitation course, or even a prison term.
